About the main ingredients of Ohlalá Paris toothpaste
Xylitol is a natural plant ingredient found in many fruits and vegetables and is part of the daily human metabolism. Decreased saliva production is a problem for many people, as it prevents the enamel of the teeth from getting enough calcium and phosphate (the main minerals for your dental health), which puts you at a higher risk of tooth decay. Xylitol stimulates saliva production, so the minerals it carries with it keep tooth enamel strong and reduce the build-up of tartar. Bacteria that grow in the mouth and form tartar cannot feed on xylitol. Therefore, if they cannot break it down, they die and cannot attach themselves to your teeth.
Dental fluoride helps restore your mouth's mineral content by replenishing the calcium and phosphorus reserves that keep your teeth strong. It has been shown to be effective in reducing the likelihood of tooth decay. When you use fluoride toothpaste, you are strengthening your tooth enamel and helping to rebuild teeth that have already lost some calcium (otherwise your teeth may eventually decay). Hundreds of scientific studies have already shown that fluoride toothpaste helps prevent tooth decay, and regular brushing with fluoride toothpaste is a reliable way to improve your oral hygiene. Using fluoride toothpaste for children from the age of six is beneficial. Younger children, who are at higher risk of tooth decay, can also use fluoride toothpaste.
Remember: no matter how tasty your toothpaste is, never waste it! No toothpaste, regardless of whether it contains fluoride, should be swallowed.
For this reason, dentists advise against the use of fluoride toothpaste for children under the age of six, and if it is used, adult supervision is essential. So keep all fluoride-containing products, including toothpaste and mouthwashes, out of the reach of children. There is no risk for older children, adolescents and adults whose teeth have already developed.
